Try them out, probably SS at 1.1 or 1.2 and see if you can keep your frame rate in place using the OTT HUD (performance). ASW is great for some games but any serious SIM racer will avoid at all costs. You should know exactly where things are in a race, bit 'guessed' frames filled in by an algorithm. It's not good for anything except casual racing. The net result is the same thing, we don't want ASW to ever engage. The file in your Pcars2 folder will be graphicsconfigoculusdx11, not the openvr one mentioned in this post which obviously refers to the Vive.

Note that even though the Vive is mentioned, these settings were used for the rift in my case and others.
#Project cars 2 video calibration how to#
Here's a detailed post on how to set things up from someone who clearly knows far more about the performance implications of this title than I would ever profess to know. I'm running quite different and at first glance more complex settings, but they are by far the best out of everything I've tried. I love the detail of SS 1.5 but I have to drop it for 1.4 with Anistropic 16x otherwise I get a lot of screen flicker.Īny suggestions for settings that could be reduced without much loss in visual pleasing-ness? What are the big hitters? Is it the same as with PC1? Its a hassle having to constantly restart the game when you change literally any graphics setting.Īlthough it is absolutely amazing in VR, I do find the glare to really wash out the colour, but I can't find an option to turn it off.

How are you all finding the graphics, and what settings are you running for best performance? I've got a 2 year old i5 4690K with an MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X Plus and finding I can run all on Ultra except Shadows, Detailed Grass and Particle Density which I have to drop to medium. Almost threw in the towel, but then I found the Formula 1 cars and haven't played anything else since. Loving it so far, although I'm not a big driving sim fan so I found it very difficult to start with because of how serious it is.
